Flügger and Flügger’s employees donate DKK 284,532 to Danmarks Indsamling
For six days, employees and members of the Flügger management have been pedal-pushing for a good cause – and covered more than 500 kilometres as part of the cycling fund-raising initiative Flügger Danmarks Stafetten. The bicycle ride ended at the big fund-raising show in Vejle Music Theatre on Saturday 1 February, where Flügger CEO Jimmi Mortensen proudly presented Flügger’s donation, an impressive DKK 284,532.
It was a rainy winter evening when Jimmi Mortensen and the other cyclists arrived at Danmarks Indsamling’s big live show in Vejle Music Theatre on Saturday 1 February. Here, Jimmi Mortensen was able to present a paint bucket with ‘284,532’ printed on the side – signifying Flügger’s donation of DKK 250,000 and the DKK 34,532 which had been collected by Flügger’s employees in Denmark to help refugee children.
On arrival at Vejle Music Theatre, Jimmi Mortensen was interviewed by Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) host Mark Stokholm, who asked why Flügger had decided to take on the role as main sponsor for the Flügger Danmarks Stafetten bike ride. Jimmi Mortensen replied:
“It’s an incredibly important cause that needs our support. Thirty-five million children are fleeing war and disaster – more than six times the population of Denmark. It’s a cause which is close to our hearts, and one which we are very keen to support.”
About Flügger Danmarks Stafetten
Flügger was the main sponsor of Flügger Danmarks Stafetten 2020, Danmarks Indsamling’s exclusive cycling event, which had a limited number of places on each stage. The money from the participation fees has been donated in full to Danmarks Indsamling.
Flügger Danmarks Stafetten comprised six stages, which passed through some of Denmark’s most beautiful but challenging countryside.
